I've been tagged!!!

I've been tagged by Sunny over at A Damsel No Longer in Distress.
I'm also very new at being tagged, this is my first 'tagging'! So I guess, like Sunny, I'll post the guidelines first:

1. Post eight random facts/habits about yourself. Choose eight others to "tag", and include the guidelines in your post.
2. Let your "taggees" know that they've been tagged!
3. Enjoy learning more about your cyber-sisters/brothers.

Okay, so now I have to post 8 random facts or habits about myself.....to be honest I think I'm pretty boring too, but I told Sunny I would participate so here we go!

1. I LOVE coffee! I can drink 2, possibly 3 pots of coffee on any given day!
2. I love to research just about anything.
3. I love to bake, especially in the fall!
4. I am definitely an old fashioned person....ie: I love to crochet, garden, crafts, etc.
5. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my 2 children and husband! They are the 'bestest' in the world!!!
6. I am definitely new to blogging, but am SO enjoying it!
7. I have kept tropical fish for 10+ years.
8. I have no brain anymore. If I don't write things in my new 'brain', hence my HUGE planner, I won't remember a darn thing! (It took a vacation when I got pregnant with my kids, and this last time, NEVER came back!!!! :) )

I warned ya! LOL Pretty boring, aren't I?!?!

And the "taggee's" that I have tagged are as follows!

Bethany @ Happy to be called Mommy!
Nina @ Mamas*Little*Treasures
Laurie Ann @ A Magnolia's Heart Beats
Rebecca @ Oceans From the Rain
Rhonda Jean @ down---to---earth
Island Queen @ Sandcastle Momma
Octamom @ OCTAMOM (c)
Debra @ Days of Grace

I LOVE reading each one of these blogs! There are many blogs that I frequent from time to time, and many others I could tag, but these have brought me so much joy in the last few days. So pop on over and say 'hi'!

Audie

Miracle Monday

My son Bub, has had a few problems since starting school. I should have held him back in kindergarten, but decided to send him to first grade instead. There were a LOT of people who came my way, I believe angels sent by God to let me know that it was a mistake, but I chose not to listen.
We did have struggles we had to overcome, but most importantly, I had to realize he was not exactly ready to be in first grade. Summer came and summer went, and on the first day of school not only did Bub go, but so did I and my honey. We needed to figure out what would be the best thing for Bub. Hold him back for another year of first grade, or move him onto second grade. After hours of asking questions, reiterating answers/questions, voicing concerns and worries, I finally elected to hold him back in first grade. A weight was lifted off of myself when I spoke those words. I just prayed and hoped that I had made the right decision.
He flew through first grade, the second time. He grew in so many ways I couldn't even describe most of them. But more importantly his self-confidence grew and he KNEW that he could REALLY do it!
Now this year, he is in second grade. And doing wonderfully! No issues, no problems focusing. No LACK of confidence. He is doing great, has made tons of friends, can sit down and do his work when asked and has a TON of confidence. For a mother, isn't that ALL we want? Our children to succeed in life? Of course! Sometimes, we need to remember who exactly is in charge. So we don't have to have a thump on the head!

Have a wonderful and blessed day in Him!

In Christ,
Audie

*****Apparently this is no longer available to view. If any of you are wondering about this post, I discovered a really cool website where you could enter your name in a few text boxes, and immediately your last name was embedded into a video that you were running for president. I got such a big laugh out of it, I wanted to share it with everyone. But whoever came up with the video, decided he didn't want to share it and took it off-line.*****

Fruit of The Spirit Friday 9*5*08

Over the last week, there has been one piece of scripture that has been popping up at me. Yesterday, there were times I either read the scripture on someone's blog for Thankful Thursday, or I heard it on K-Love, Touched By An Angel or some other form of media.

The scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
'There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die..'

Three months ago, my husband received a job offer/promotion from the company he's been working for, for 4 years now. The offer/promotion? Become District Manager out of North Dakota....instead the Assistant Manager here in Utah. The offer came out of nowhere, and it was something that we talked about, prayed about, asked questions, asked opinions and waited patiently for God to be before us instead of rushing into something that seemed great at the time. That saying, 'There will always be greener pastures'.....no matter which side of the fence you're on, came to mind.

After we discussed and prayed about it, we prayed that if this was something the Lord wanted us to do that the company would offer to pay for us to go up and see what ND was all about. Now, myself being originally from SD made this move all the more of a blessing, as I would now be about 8 hours from my parents, sister, brother, and extended relatives. But this was something I did NOT want to think about, nor give me an excuse to want to take this offer when it could possibly be a 'bribe' from the devil.

The company did offer to pay for us to go up about 3 weeks later, and we left, just hubby and myself to have a business meeting with one of the head honchos before arriving in ND. We were suppose to be there about a week and a half, although it proved difficult to be content seeing the city day after day for 5 days without the children. So we decided to leave early.

We did VERY much enjoy the city we were visiting, the same city where the new shop would be, and also the very same city we would be living in. So came the decision to move. We said 'yes', we will take the job promotion.

Fastforward 3 months later.....our house has been packed for the last 2 months except for the necessary living materials, and we've got our house on the market waiting to sell, also fixing up things here and there that need to be done. The Lord has been faithful and before us every step of the way, but He has been teaching my husband two things: Patience and having Faith.

Which leads me to today's Fruit of the Spirit.

I said for years that 'Patience' was not a virtue I possessed. But I can honestly say that I am learning it. We knew that we would have some difficulty in finding financing for buying a new house in ND, which has proven true. We had fallen on some hard times 2 years ago, and it took me that long to get things paid off so they were not hindering us. However, because there were those problems, we now are waiting on the Lord to move that mountain for us so we can buy a new house. However, we are also waiting on the Lord to bring the people who are meant to buy the house as well. Which is having 'Faith' in Him. But more importantly, having the 'Patience' and the 'Faith' in His timing. His timing is NEVER too soon, nor is it EVER too late.

So I sit here, day after day, waiting on Him. Waiting for Him to speak to me about what needs to be done, Praising Him for every single blessing that He has given us, and every single blessing that we are about to receive from Him.

And boy does the devil like to give things to think about! It feels like we are in spiritual warfare right now, and the thing about it, it's not just my hubby, myself and my kids; but it's also my mom, grandmother (maternal), and my brother that are going through it. But day after day, the Lord shows me to be thankful for what we have. To wait on Him patiently, and to know that only He knows the plan for our life, and where our journey is taking us. Only He knows what awaits us through this new door, and having faith like that of a child is the only way to survive those 'flying by the seat of your pants' feeling. But knowing that the Lord is ever faithful, never changing, and loves us that much, allows me to humble myself and listen to His word. Patience is a virtue I'm learning to possess, and when the devil gives me those stumbling blocks along the way to hinder me, I know the Lord uses those stumbling blocks to 'strengthen' me!

Praise God, Thank you Jesus for ALWAYS teaching, pruning and leading Lord!

I hope you ALL have a VERY blessed day in Him!

May you all learn the joys of being patient, and the blessings that come from waiting on, and having faith as small as a mustard seed, in our Lord Jesus Christ!

In Christ' Love,
Audie

Thankful Thursday 9*4*08

Good Evening everyone!
I know that I 'should' have had this post done earlier, however, the reason I haven't done it yet is the very same reason I am thankful today!
My hubby is home now, for about a week, before he goes back to work for another 3 weeks. He got home last night, we all had dinner together, and then cuddled on the couch watching episodes of Eli Stone and Eureka that he has missed! (I tape them for him on our DVR while he's gone *smile*)
There are definitely SO many things that I have been SO blessed with and by, and I am extremely grateful and thankful for each and every one of them. But today, I am thankful for not only my 2 children, but also the fact that for the next few days, I can spend them with my honey!

I hope each and every one of you has an EXTREMELY blessed day in Him!

In Christ,
Audie

A Prayer Request please.....

Last week my grandmother (maternal) became ill after eating supper. To make a story somewhat short, and to not make this post disgusting (if you're eating a snack, or have a squeamish stomach, etc.) she was going #2 that wasn't very normal and ended up having blood come out.
She had an MRI yesterday, and the doctor called her today to let her know that it was NOT her gallbladder. The doctor has asked her to go in tomorrow to talk with him, and then they will do more tests I guess.
If you could pray for her, whatever God's will is, I would greatly appreciate it.
We lost my Aunt (mom's sister) last fall to cancer, and it would be so difficult to find out that we were losing my Grandma to it also.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!
I'll keep you updated as I find out more.

In Christ,
Audie

Hiya everyone!

I know I've not been around much lately....and I was doing really good at posting new entries and then, well they kind of came to a stop.
I wanted to just talk a little bit about why that happened, and hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things here shortly!
Unfortunately, the end of February, I discovered the baby I was carrying died at 8 weeks. I had what was called a 'Missed Miscarriage', which was extremely difficult, and still is as we are coming up on the date he should have been born. September 19th. But I'm doing good, have good days and bad days. I don't tell you this for a whole sympathy trip, just that I wasn't in any shape to be blogging during that time and of course afterwards.
And well currently, we are in the process of trying to sell our house as my husband received a promotion that moves us to ND. A scary, but exciting time for us. I have things that I am still doing in the house to get it ready, while I show it to potential buyers. So things have been kind of crazy the last couple months!
I still visit many of the blogs I have listed to the right --> when I have time, and I pray for ya'll and wish you well!
Hopefully we'll have a chance to talk soon!

In Christ,
Audie

Treasure Tuesday

Photobucket

Over the course of the last couple weeks I have given quite a few things away as I'm spring cleaning, decluttering and just plain getting rid of things.
I had a gal who lives about a half-hour away from me take Princess's crib, that was a 3 in 1. It was first a crib, then a daybed (for a toddler), and then a full size headboard. Well, Princess no longer sleeps in it as she has a twin size bed in her room, so ALL it was doing was taking up space. I had thought of maybe using the headboard somehow, but let's face it, her room was NOT and is NOT big enough for a full size bed! She also took a few toys that I had confiscated through my cleaning efforts of Princess's room, and later took 3 1/2 bags of clothes and a brand new Sesame Street Umbrella stroller that we had maybe used twice.
I also have given away an end table that I don't need anymore, a kids' recliner that was kind of broke, but still worked as far as sitting in it goes. ALL of this stuff is just MORE than my house can handle right now! Bub was a little upset to give up his recliner, but let's look at this. He's 8 1/2 years old, doesn't sit in it anymore, and ALL it did was take up room! So after telling him I'd either buy him another one or figure something else out when we get a new house, he was perfectly fine with getting rid of it!
I truly hope that the things I have gotten rid of in the past couple weeks blesses someone else, they way they have blessed me in the past!

I hope everyone is truly blessed today, blessing someone else!

Audie

Miracle Monday

There have been many, many miracles in my life. Small and big.
The Lord is an awesome God, and He gives miracles to everyone each and every day. You just need to learn where to look for them.
When that single mom doesn't have enough money to buy dinner, but is able to find a clearanced Mac and Cheese, that is a miracle. When you have bills to pay and have no idea where the money is going to come from, and a friend remembers some money they owe you, that is a miracle.
We ALL have miracles, each and everyday, it's just how you classify them and whether or not you give thanks for them.
I could tell you about my miracle of my son, Bub. Or I could tell you about the miracle of my daughter, Princess. Or many of the blessings and miracles in between. But I think for today, I'll tell you of a miracle that I was blessed with just a few weeks ago. And although it's a small one, it's still a miracle of God.
For the last 2 years I have wanted to have a garden. My husband did not want me to plant a garden, for many reasons, but we'll leave it at that. Over the course of the last 2 years I've researched plants, figured out what went well together, found information on Square foot gardening, and tried to figure out the best way to store my harvest. Well, this year, my husband has FINALLY said I can have a garden. So I started planning. Well then, about 3 weeks ago the Lord blessed me with a fridge for free off of Freecycle.com, so that allowed me to put my old fridge in the garage AND have a place to STORE MY HARVEST!!!! This has TRULY been a miracle for me. Although it may not seem like it to you, the Lord blesses each of us in the way He knows our heart. He knows what we desire, and praise God thank you Jesus, He loves us THAT much, to provide those pleasures for us!

I hope you ALL have a blessed day in Christ!

Audie

Sunday Seven

Layouts & More @ ColorArmy.Com

From: Sunday Seven: 52nd Edition

As we welcome a beautiful Mother's Day weekend, we invite you to end this week and begin the next by --

Telling 7 memories of your mother;
Telling 7 qualities you admire about your mother;
Listing 7 reasons you are glad to BE a mother; or
Making 7 ways in which you plan to be a better mother than you have been in the past.

I have been so blessed by my mother, as a child, growing up, and now as a mother myself.
My mother has always been a wonderfully giving person. Giving of herself to help her family, friends and others, and also giving of things that someone may need at the time.
She was also a stay-at-home Mom majority of the time us kids were growing up. Which I definitely believe was the main reason the three of us turned out the way we did.
My mom was always there for us, no matter what. And still to this day, is.
My mom worked hard to make a loving and wonderful home that we all lived in.
She also made sure we ALWAYS knew she loved us!
My mom always made sure we had everything we needed, and a lot of times wanted.
She wanted to make sure we had the best childhood my parents could give us, even sacrificing things they needed for us.
My mom has also carried this out in her grandchildrens' lives as well.
I have definitely been blessed to have my Mom!

Becoming a mother has also been a tremendous blessing to me.
I LOVE being a mother to my 8 1/2 year old son and my 3 year old daughter.
They teach me something new everyday! And I love showing them how to do something too!
The love to help mom and dad with anything and everything! Of course!
Watching them growing up these past few years has been so wonderful for me. To see who they are, and how they are literally blossoming before my eyes!
I honestly cannot imagine a more gratifying job in the world!
Being a stay-at-home Mom has definitely enhanced my life!
And to top it off, when I was little I couldn't figure out exactly WHAT I wanted to do as a job.....well, as most Mom's would agree with me, we do EVERYTHING imaginable!!!! LOL We are an accountant, a doctor, a nurse, a teacher, a chef, a baker, a gardener, a creator, a stretcher-of-the-money, a custodian, a banker, a librarian, a commander-in-chief, a keeper of the peace, and MANY, MANY more!!! And I LOVE it!!!!

I hope each and every one of you Mom's have a WONDERFUL day, spending time with the ones you love most, and the ones that love YOU most!

In Christ,
Audie

Fruit of the Spirit Friday

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ---Galations 22 & 23

The Fruit of the Spirit that I have been working on this week is Love.

Isn't it wonderful that the Lord has provided us an entire chapter in 1 Corinthians completely devoted to Love?
Through 1 Corinthians Chapter 13 we are shown that if we have SO many others things, but have not Love, we are nothing! NOTHING! Love is everything!

We are also shown in verse 13: But the greatest of these is love.

I encourage you to read 1 Corinthians Chapter 13. It is a WONDERFUL passage, whether you've read it a million times or not even once.

Have a wonderful day in the Lord!

In Christ,

Thankful Thursday

Today I am EXTREMELY thankful for being able to plant gardens to bless my family. With the rising costs of food, it is awesome that we are able to grow our own fruits and vegetables to help stretch the paychecks that our husbands bring in!

I know, I know, we have enough Meme's!!! LOL But, I have been thinking about starting a meme that encourages everyone to bless each other by decluttering their homes. Maybe there is something that you don't use anymore, maybe there is something you have never used. I want to encourage you, instead of having a yard sale or garage sale (whichever is used in your neck of the woods) make the effort to take your removed declutter to a thrift store, or even check out Freecycle to see if there is one in your area! Everything on freecycle, is just that, Free and recycled. That saying, 'One man's trash is another man's treasure' comes to mind.
I want to encourage each one of you, every Tuesday, to bless someone by giving something away. Whether it is giving it to a friend you know will be blessed by it, taking it to a thrift store, or giving it away on Freecycle. And maybe you don't have anything to give at this point, maybe you know someone who is having a rough time in their life, you could send them a card, or take them a flower from your yard.
Whatever it is you end up doing, post about it! Add your information to the Mr. Linky below and take a look at the others!

In Christ,
Audie
